Gisela Elisa Heredia 
Choreographer and Dance Artist









 

Born in Córdoba, Argentina, Gisela's journey seamlessly weaves between psychology and movement. While studying Psychology at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC), she simultaneously completed her training in Contemporary Dance at the university’s Choreographic Platform.

Since 2003, Vienna has been her creative home, where she furthered her studies in Pedagogy for Contemporary Dance at the Konservatorium Wien (now MUK). As a freelance dancer, choreographer, and teacher, she has spent years shaping and being shaped by the international dance scene—presenting her work at festivals, theater productions, and film projects across Europe and beyond.

Her creations have been showcased at venues such as Poolbar Festival, MuTh Wien, Tanzhafen Festival, steirischer herbst, Posthof Linz, KUB – Kunsthaus Bregenz, Linz09, Berührungen Tanz Festival – Odeon Theater, Tanz Atelier Wien Company, Tanzquartier Wien, TanzTag Wien, Klagenfurter Ensemble, Künstlerhaus Wien, Theater Phönix (Austria), Das Tanzfest St. Gallen (Switzerland), Reverie DansFestival (Belgium), Tanzzentrale (Germany), Albania Dance Meeting Festival – Experimental Theater (Albania), Plesni Theater Ljubljana (Slovenia), Gödör Space (Hungary), Zoom Festival (Croatia), Cinema Victoria (Romania), Centro Cultural España-Córdoba, Casa Babylon Social Club, Teatro Real, 24 Horas de Arte – Festival de Danza Contemporánea, Danzón – Teatro Comedia (Argentina), and many more.

Her work has been recognized with multiple awards, including First Prize for Best Choreographic Work and Second Prize for Best Group in Contemporary Dance Technique at the Festival Latinoamericano de Danza Contemporánea in Argentina.

In 2016, Gisela was honored with the Avantgarde Award for her artistic and choreographic achievements. In 2021, she received a grant from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture for a new work with dancers in Romania. In 2023, she was awarded a grant from the City of Vienna for her latest project, Minorities.
